What does this sound like. 06 Ridgeline not turning over. All the electronic stuff works when the key is turned to accessory ie the radio and power locks and lights but when you turn to start nothing. Not even the sound of it trying to turn over. And it was working just fine as of a half hour ago. Aka I’m currently stranded at target.

Dying battery - everything lights up but it’s too weak to trip the starter solenoid.

Check the battery terminals. Sounds like one of them is loose. Wiggle them around then tighten them. That or your ECU is fried, burn it is most likely just the battery.

Either low battery voltage, loose connection, bad wire, or dead starter.

battery nipples can really take a toll on battery life.

It’s possible the battery is failing and electrical load of the starter is too much for the battery to supply. The starter is one of the highest amp devices in your car. Your radio, by comparison has a much lower amp draw, and will still work even if it can’t support the starter.

Does this have a transponder (chip) key? Might not be seeing it. My Ranger did the same thing when I got a new key made and it wasn’t programmed correctly the first time.

Or if it has “tip start” (you don’t need to hold the key to start, the PCM handles cranking) then there could be a problem in a module somewhere.

Battery terminals or just keep turning the key to start and it probably start working again for a while

Could still be a low battery as some have mentioned, also could be a faulty shift lever. Move it through reverse, drive, then back to park (auto, I assume? Not sure I’ve seen a manual Avalanche.)
